My girlfriend begged me to put the sissy bar on, it was off when I got the bike.
She feels a lot more comfortable with the bar on, gives her a more secure feeling.
We have ridden a bit before without the bar and I didn't have the feeling of
having a lot more room than with the bar on. But these feelings are rather personal,
you have to try out for yourself.
But be warned: Putting the sissy bar on is A.P.I.T A.
